Buy 1 Take 1 Pizza @ Barrio Bistro

in Friday, May 20, 2011

A lot of pizza parlors are now sprouting like mushrooms in Davao City. With lots in the competition, I find the Barrio Bistro in the edge of all. They offer Buy 1 Take 1 for all their home-made thin crust pizza from 2PM-10PM daily. Picobello and Mama Maria'z Pizzeria only offer from 2PM-5PM daily, with the former only on weekdays.

My brother treat the whole family to this restaurant on his second dine after his first which he heard from a radio advertisement. I say this restaurant has delicious pizzas I tasted plus the must-taste deliciously cooked Bolognese pasta. Never a miss!

They also offer breakfast meals (open 7AM daily), coffee (oh by the way do try their Irish Frappuccino and Strawberry Milkshake, perfect!) and will soon offer food delivery. They said they will soon be including in their menu Baby Back Ribs, so we will definitely go back to this place to try it. They also have free Wifi. A good place to meet with friends.

Barrio Bistro is located in Lacson St., Davao City. From McDonald's Bajada, just drive less than 200m straight the road and you'll find the restaurant.

A sip of coffee at Green Coffee

in Wednesday, May 18, 2011

Officially opened last May 11, 2011, the Green Coffee captured our interest of its relaxing garden ambiance. We hopped to this coffeeshop after dinner, a walk long along F. Torres St., Davao City, which we just saw by chance. I heard that this is the country's first air-conditioned outdoor garden, although I have not experienced that for we might have seated at the other corner. I love the comfort and calmness of the place. Though it just opened, I was surprised that the shop was full (knowing that a lot crowded in the newly opened Starbucks in Abreeza). Well I guess Davaoenos still patronize locally brewed coffee and locally born shops.

I remembered the setting in CoffeeCat with their bricked wall design in the counter. The coffeeshop is a self-serviced shop like Starbucks which you have to wait in line to get your coffee to your table. So if you're staying outside, you have to wait inside for your name to be called.

Their bestseller is Cafe Mocha which my friends tried paired with a banana cake/chocolate mousse. After 11 months of self-promising to not drink coffee, I broke the vow for a taste of this new shop, which I have known is a Panadero Express under a new brand.

I don't have the sweet tooth that night so I have not finished drinking my cup. But for a place to chat with friends and relax, I recommend you come here.

Dinner buffet at Lassa Asyano

in Sunday, May 15, 2011

When it comes to buffet, Davao City has lots to offer with delicious food at a very affordable price. My friends accidentally arrived at this restaurant as we thought it is still the place a grill restaurant once reside. We gave it a shot. And yes, Lassa Asyano, didn't fail to fill our stomach with Filipino and seafood dish. At Php275/pax, you get a dinner buffet with complimentary pineapple or four seasons juice drink. The restaurant is air-conditioned and has a spacious area.

A few of what they served are Hawaiian Chicken, Crispy Shrimps, Crabs, Pork in Brandy Peanut Sauce, Beef Kare-Kare, Sauteed shellfish, Tuna lumpia, Grilled Bangus, Maki, Sushi and Sashimi.

Although they have a number of main course, they only have fruits (pineapple and watermelon) and a sweetened graham crackers (in condensed milk) as their dessert, which is a bit of disappointment. But if you love seafoods, this is a no doubt a place to dine in.

Lassa Asyano is located at Tionko Ave. corner Arellano St., Davao City.

Fagioli Coffee Club

Great coffee + great place = FAGIOLI. The moment you step on foot on this coffeeshop, Fagioli welcomes you with its warm staff and comfortable ambiance perfect for a moment of relaxation. From brewed to frappe, Fagioli serves the best tasty coffee that will leave your tastebuds crave for more.

Their hot Fagioli is the best brewed coffee I tasted so far. If you prefer frappe, I recommend Tiramisu or Iced Irish Cream Mocha. The Aglio e Olio is also a must-try for a pasta. You might also want to try Sardinni or Tonno panini.

And Oh! The very comfy ambiance extends to their restroom. You may even put a hammock in it. ;)

A moment spent at Fagioli is worthy be it casual or business. The place is a few walks away from Microtel Inns and Suites in Damosa and a 2-minute drive from Grand Regal Hotel. Visit Fagioli at Lanang beside Kia Showroom and infront of Synnex Concentrix.

Oh! my GODDESS!

in Tuesday, October 6, 2009

Do you have the voice? Got the talent? Well I'm not actually advertising an 'artista' or singer search. lol. But if you definitely got the feeling of a Goddess prowess, then you might as well try hanging out in this place.

Twice in a row I came with friends and checked a newly opened KTV just in Madrazo beside BDO, infront of fruitstands. T'was a great place. The common area is comfy and sophisticated. I love the red walls and the white sofas. They match my preferences. Love reds, biased? well.. =D Oh, and the sound system is great too. Or maybe that's why I sound like a goddess that night. Shew! I was deceived! Well, kidding aside. The place was really nice. Although you might find it a bit of luxury on the rates. I'm a bit broke you know, so I don't spend much =D. If you love videoke, I recommend this place.
